OH! Potong Pasir

2016
Potong Pasir [Singapore]
Co-curated with Alan Oei for OH! Open House

In March 2016, the 6th edition of OH! Open House's popular ticketed annual art walk ventured into Potong Pasir. With the tagline “Now You See It, Now You Don’t”, artists brought to life narratives of departed spaces, such as Bidadari Cemetery and the original sand quarry. This was set against a backdrop of intense upgrading and construction – itself the aftermath of political transition.

OH! Potong Pasir brought more than 1,600 guests over three weekends into:

  1. St Andrew’s Village, our first collaboration with a school
  2. 3 HDB flats showcasing Potong Pasir’s unique architecture
  3. A black-and-white colonial house
  4. Part of the exhumed Bidadari Christian Cemetery
